German development finance institution DEG and Citi on Thursday announced providing a USD 76-million co-financing package to Shriram Finance Ltd, aimed at accelerating economic inclusion, rural development, and climate-aligned mobility pan-India.
Under this, while DEG (Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH) has provided a 40 million euro loan (around USD 46 million) and Citi has extended a Rs 260 crore loan to the NBFC, a statement said.
This collaborative and innovative financing is designed to strengthen the company's outreach to priority segments that remain underserved in India's credit ecosystem, it said, adding Citi acted as a lead arranger and coordinator for this financing.
This is the second such collaboration between the two co-financing partners following the successful transaction supporting CreditAccess Grameen in 2024, underscoring the institutions' shared commitment to advancing inclusive and climate-positive financing in India, the statement said.

Sri Lanka on Thursday allowed a second Iranian ship to dock at the eastern port of Trincomalee and evacuated all 208 personnel on board, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said, a day after another Iranian frigate was sunk near the island nation.
In a televised address, Dissanayake said the vessel, IRINS Bushehr, had sought permission to enter Sri Lankan waters, citing an engine failure.
"We wanted to remain neutral while dealing with a humanitarian response," he said, adding that Sri Lanka's role was limited to responding to a request from one party involved in the conflict.
"No one deserves to die. Every life is precious," the President said.
He also criticised opposition parties for attempting to politicise the situation.
"We won't succumb to pressure. We will maintain our neutrality," Dissanayake said.

A helicopter flying to Kaushambi, with Uttar Pradesh's Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on board, had to undertake an emergency landing after it developed a technical snag soon after take off from Lucknow, sources said on Saturday.
According to a BJP leader close to Maurya, the deputy chief minister was going to Kaushambi to attend multiple events.
The chopper, with five persons including Maurya, his aide Vivek and two pilots, had taken off from Lucknow La Martiniere College ground helipad when it developed a snag.
"Smoke was noticed all inside the chopper soon after take off, forcing the pilots to opt for an emergency landing at the Lucknow airport," the BJP leader said.
Party leaders suggested Maurya was fine and would go to Kaushambi later in another helicopter.
A team of experts have been rushed in to identify the causes that led to smoke and forced the pilot to opt for an emergency landing.

The Andhra Pradesh government availed Rs 1.72 lakh crore through special drawing facility, ways and means advances and overdraft during 2024-25, ending up paying Rs 303 crore towards interest, according to a CAG report.
The Comptroller and Auditor General report, which was tabled in the Assembly, on Friday said the state government maintained the minimum cash balance with the Reserve Bank of India for only eight days without availing any WMA from RBI.
The report further stated that the government's revenue deficit exceeded the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) target of 2.7 per cent of GSDP, remaining at 3.75 per cent even in 2024-25. This forced the state to borrow for day-to-day expenses and significantly increased its interest burden.
